Does this change the location? Though the suggestion below should not be necessary, it may be worth trying if the advice from Enchantech have not helped resolve this issue:. The above is from one of my own NAS backup tasks so the information you see will be different according to your backup task name, NAS name etc.. Make a backup of the script file before attempting any changes to this information. There’s no option anywhere to enter or change the path, all I get is this dialog which shows the path which I cant change :.

You need to look at the top of the GUI destination screen. You will see a field in which the path is displayed. As Enchantech wrote, you should be trying to change the path using the box at the top of the panel as the screen shot below:. If you are not able to do this, then the other option might be to try using the option to ‘Add existing backup’ and select the latest backup file from your new NAS location, then reconfigure this new backup with the settings you use for the original one apart from the destination.

You may need to remove or rename the original backup task before being able to do this as the file names will match that original task. I cant get past the authentication dialog, so I never get the ‘backup to’ location tree view, this is the problem.

It looks like I’m going to have to start from scratch, reset and configure all my jobs again, not to mention run all my backups from 0. Which is insane, all I wanted to do was change the backup destination. Sorry, had to leave this for awhile. What happens if you click on Cancel, will that allow you to get to the backup location tree view? I myself did this a few months ago as I reconfigured my network.

In trying to recall how I changed the path I am certain that I changed it by entering the new path in this way. I am fairly sure that I did have to cancel out the logon credentials screen to do so.

Thanks xer0w for the hint. Had a similar problem with Acronis True Image I moved the nas in another location and was unable to change backup destination. So I added to the windows host file the new nas IP followed by the path shown in the authentication settings img on post 7 of this thread and it worked again.

Thanks as well for the workaround. Though I must admit that it’s pretty crappy for one ofe the best rated backup solutions to have to go to such lengths. Moving a backup and including an older backup from another location is definitely not something the overall very simplistic user interface will allow. Sorry Acronis. I’ve had to deal with this on a few occasions now for various reasons and I have to say it’s ridiculous for a product of this caliber not to simplify such an essential function.

I hope this is addressed in a future build. Dear James, thank you for your honest feedback, registered it as a vote for the change request TI Allow changing the plan settings when the target location is not available. A thank you from me too, and I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that having to jump through such hoops is disconcerting, to say the least.

I find that absurd. The same problem arises if I copy the backups to a local drive, it still looks for the files in the old network path. I’ve registered your feedback as a vote for the existing change request internal ID for ref TI Register another vote please.

For god’s sake, I can’t believe such an issue still exists in one of the best backup software. I also moved my hard disks from one NAS to another – data is literally the same, all that has changed is the NAS name – I was quite surprised that there was no easy way to point to a new location..

Please, I would like this feature to be added. I am not willing to do registry editing etc. Authored on. I have a folder about 2GB in size that I want to backup onto our server each night. Windows backup takes about 10 minutes, and if I just copy the file to the server it takes about 2 minutes. If I use Acronis to backup the file to a local drive, it only takes a few minutes.

Any idea why Acronis is running so much slower over the network and what I could do to improve it’s performance? First of all, please make sure that you’re using the latest build of the software that is available under your account.

Please check that the network speed in Backup Options is set to Maximum. See Chapter 5. Additionally, please note that Acronis compresses the file during the backup process and different types of files allows different levels of the compression and it also take some time.

Network backup performance is a dog. I know it’s not a network problem because once the backup finishes I can then copy the. This is an Acronis issue and nothing else. This is with Workstation Echo build I totally agree This is the major issue for with Acronis TI and has been for several versions back. My wife’s laptop was doing a GB full backup today which originally came out to be over 8 hours expected time on the progress bar. This included a validation process.

When it got about half way, the progress bar jumped forward from about 4 hours remaining to about 5 minutes remaining very quickly. But then it”recalculated”and came up with the weirdo value in the picture file I’ve attached to this post.

This has been about standard fare with Acronis across networks, at least in my experience. There is definitely something quirky going on with the way Acronis calculates expected and remaining process times. Do not configure Auto for speed and duplex. Set it to what you know your network is. If you upgrade firmware or install certain network software, you should go back to these settings and verify that they have not changed. Funny though I had to do the exact opposite for PS3 streaming. I tested ATI backup with both settings and there was no difference.

The thing for me that improved network utilization was to turn off the ipv4 chcksum offload in the network adapter. So it will depend on your configuration I suddenly found that one of the PCs could not access file shares on the other, getting the message ‘Not enough server space I applied this to the sharing PC first and it worked perfectly. I wondered if this was related to the Acronis slow network backup problem and applied the same correction to the other PC. Authored on.

You can remove the saved UNC path and credentials from Windows registry, then reconfigure the task destinatiion location to correct this. After delete the entry close regedit and reboot the computer. After supplying credentials click on the Test connection button to test the connection.

Once connected the task should now run to the new location. Using VSS Doctor. In the destination screen at the top you should see the path. Can you enter the new path there then on the right side of the path box click on the arrow in the square box. Does this change the location? Hi, I cant get past the authentication dialog, so I never get the ‘backup to’ location tree view, this is the problem. The program must be reading the old path from somewhere no? You should not have to start from scratch to accomplish this,. I added an entry to my local hosts file for the old hostname, I could then edit the job.

Without any effort on your part, Acronis checks your system for unpatched security holes. A panel in the main Protection page for Vulnerability assessment shows a link to a list of detected vulnerabilities.

On our test system, Acronis found dozens of Firefox vulnerabilities, which it ordered by severity: Critical, High, or Low. Unlike the vulnerability scan in Avast Free Antivirus and some others, it makes no attempt to install missing updates. The scanner simply advises that you install the latest updates for all affected programs and then scan again.

When we followed that advice, the new scan came up clean. By default, Acronis scans for vulnerabilities daily. If this collection of security components existed as a standalone antivirus , it would be a decent choice. It scored high in our malicious URL blocking test and its ransomware protection layer is outstanding.

It would probably rate three stars. That’s good, but not great. Whether great or merely good, the available security protection significantly enhances Cyber Protect Home Office. For extra reassurance that your files remain exactly as they were when you backed them up, Acronis offers its Notary feature. To create a notarized backup, you start a new backup job from the Source page and choose Files to notarize.

Then, select individual files or folders for the treatment and back them up either to local storage or cloud storage. A “Notarizing…” animation appears with a check mark. After backup, you can verify the file and even see an official-looking certificate with Acronis Notary listed as a signee. Acronis claims this is “indisputable proof” that no process or person changed the file.

We expect the courts will have to decide whether it’s admissible evidence, should you use it for legal purposes. Similar to Notary is ASign, which lets multiple parties digitally sign documents in your cloud storage.

To use this feature, you choose Send for Signature in the gear settings icon next to a file entry in the web interface. You add email addresses of people you want to sign the document; they receive an email with a link to a secure page where they confirm their name and sign in the signature box.

When everyone has signed, you receive an email verifying the document. This feature also uses blockchain technology to ensure that the recipient has not altered your document. We timed how long it took Acronis to upload each file set and then took the median of the results. Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office did not perform well. It completed the task in a median time of minutes:seconds , which was close to last. IDrive took the top spot in our results with a time of with ElephantDrive not far behind The upload speed of an online backup service is not the most crucial thing to consider, but fast upload times can certainly make the initial and subsequent runs much more palatable.

We tested the previous version of Acronis’ mobile app Acronis True Image: Mobile on an Android 11 device and had no issues signing into our account. The app is available for both Android and iOS. There are currently four different Acronis apps listed on the Google Play store, but the correct one for personal accounts is called Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office. The app’s clean design is reminiscent of the desktop app, and we like the consistent color scheme. The app is divided into three sections: Backups, Browse, and Settings.

Q: Why is it important? A: Acronis updates its cloud servers to authenticate users using only newer and more secure connection methods and reject connections that use older less secure methods. If you don’t install the update, any product features that use Acronis Cloud will stop working read down for the complete list of affected features.

Q: What is required from me? Q: When should I install the update? A: The updates become available starting from December It is necessary to install the update until March Q: How to install the update? Q: Can I keep my old build and install the new build side-by-side, so I could use both versions?
